What is the Giving Tree?
The Giving Tree is an annual View Ridge tradition that provides an opportunity to give presents to families in our school for whom purchasing gifts will be a challenge this holiday season. There are two Giving Trees, one outside of the library at the University Book Fair to meet book requests and another one in the school office to meet gift and clothing requests. Beginning Monday, November 13th. please share the love by choosing an item off of the tree to buy for a school family in need. Then purchase the item and bring it pre-wrapped back to the office by Wednesday, Dec 6th.
If you would like to buy a gift, but aren’t at school often, Julie Seltzer she will email you information about wishes that have not been selected yet.
Would you like to receive?
We invite families who may want to receive via the Giving Tree to contact our school counselor, Katherine Hanson, kbhanson@seattleschools.org, 206-252-5643, by Thursday, November 9th. All requests are confidential.
What is the Family Support Committee (FSC)?
The Family Support Committee works to support the community in as many ways as possible. Currently that includes the Giving Tree, the Hunger Intervention Program, Emergency support when a View Ridge family may need some extra support to participate fully and successfully in the school. For more info or to join the committee, please contact one of the co-chairs, Julie Seltzer or Janna Redman .
